Welcome to our Spring Festivities

In May we are celebrating our annual spring distribution and our prizewinners with three intercultural art experiences. Welcome to Linking the (un)known – an Intercultural Art Experience.

Our Artistic Directors, Hamidreza Keshvarpajuh and Jens Heinström, have created an interdisciplinary concept where different forms of art, cultures, languages and people meet.

The festivities are arranged at

  • Bio Rex in Helsinki, Tuesday May 14th at 6 pm
  • Veturitalli in the Wärtsilä area in Vaasa, Friday May 17th at 6 pm
  • Logomo in Turku, Wednesday May 22nd at 6 pm

The event is open for everyone and the entry is free, but you have to register in advance. If you are participating with friends, everyone has to register separately.

Book your tickets at https://anmalan.kulturfonden.fi.

The aim of the program

With our Spring Festivities in 2024 we:

  • hope that the festival program will promote living intercultural encounters and multilingualism in Finland
  • hope that the festivities will enable us to bring up and promote the emergence of positive attitudes and dialogue between the different language groups
  • want to create a set of intercultural and engaging programs that will help people from different cultural and language backgrounds to understand each other better.
  • hope to reach new target groups and make friends

In connection to the spring festivals 2024, we will celebrate, as in previous years, all grant recipients, prize winners and donors.

What is The Swedish Cultural Foundation in Finland?

The Swedish Cultural Foundation in Finland promotes and supports education, culture, art, science and research as well as social services that benefit Swedish-speaking activities in Finland. The Foundation receives around 8,000 applications each year. Every year we distribute around 45 million euro in grants to organisations and individuals.

We want to provide safe spaces

Do you have specific needs regarding accessibility during the performance? Please contact us in advance at evenemang@kulturfonden.fi.

At all our events we encourage everyone to meet new themes, new information and new people with an open mind. We aim to listen to each other, share experiences and engage in respectful dialog. If you experience inappropriate treatment during our event, we ask that you tell us about it; contact producer Mia Smulter, mia.smulter@kulturfonden.fi.
